The Revolt
  Animal Cruelty

“Brutality to an animal is cruelty to mankind - it is only the difference in the victim.”
Alphonse de Lamartine; French poet, writer, and statesman
HERE'S THE PROBLEM.

Animal cruelty is simply immoral. When most people think of animal cruelty, they think of abuse or neglect toward domestic pets. While this is sick and wrong on so many levels, there is a whole other side of animal cruelty that most people are totally unaware of. The meat industry likes everyone to believe that animals are living on a nice happy farm until they die. That couldn't be further from the truth. Pigs, chickens, cows, turkeys, and most other animals that are slaughtered for human consumption are raised on factory farms in miserable, confined, smelly spaces that do not allow them to live freely. HERE'S WHAT WE GOTTA DO.

A great way to help prevent animal cruelty is to become vegetarian or vegan. However, you don't have to change your diet or eating habits to become a member of the Revolt. It's not easy to stop eating meat, and we therefore do not require anyone to do so. As long as you're aware of these issues, you don't have to be a vegetarian. If you already are a vegan or vegetarian, that's great. If you are planning on becoming one, that's great as well. But for now, our main focus is to make people more aware of the abuse and let them know exactly what they're eating every time they bite into a nice juicy Big Mac. Let people know what goes on in slaughterhouses (just the facts, please) or tell them to log onto GoVeg.com for information.
